In recent developments, Tory Lanez's motion for a retrial has been postponed by a week, after his attorneys requested a continuance to add to their retrial motion. The deliberations will now take place on Monday, April 17th, giving both sides more time to prepare their arguments. Despite the prosecution's recent dismissal of the retrial motion, Lanez's legal team is attempting to prove his innocence and clear his name in court.

The prosecution believes that Lanez's defense is claiming wrongdoing where there was none, and that Lanez failed to address their reservations in court. However, Lanez's attorney has addressed certain misconceptions about the rapper, including his tattoo of an AK-47, which was previously painted in a negative light in court. The attorney maintained that the body art was meant to pay tribute to Tupac Shakur, and compared the two artists, stating that Mr. Shakur used his music and tattoos to discuss socio-political issues affecting the black community in the nineties.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, many still believe that Lanez is responsible for shooting Megan Thee Stallion and have criticized his actions in response to the incident. The retrial could be Lanez's last stand to clear his name and salvage his reputation in the industry and public eye.
